The trend in the direct mail business is for more colors, shorter run lengths, and tighter registration requirements. We need these systems from GMI to help us maintain our registration quality, reduce waste, and improve productivity. By installing the DRC, we’ve been about to reduce our makeready and spoilage by half. That is a huge savings for us. We needed a solution to upgrade and to enhance the registration, ink key presets and color control of our Muller A68 press. GMI had the complete solution we required – a fresh and supported application/solution for our press registration system, a CIP solution that works and is intelligent, as well as a color control solution that gives quick and accurate feedback to the ink keys and the press crew themselves. GMI partnered with us from the beginning which really ensured the success of the project.
In the end we got a product that not only met our expectations but certainly exceeded them. Within feet GMI has the press in perfect registration and holds it there throughout the day, roll to roll. The color control system along with the CIP ink key presetting has everyone amazed. They now have color ok’s completed in as quick as in 15 minutes. So impressed and pleased. This has been one of our best investments with the greatest payback (ROI).
